Beginning Nov 3rd there has been no heat at 5 Mariner Terrace. A massive plumbing failure on the third floor is said to be the culprit. Workers were on site but still today as of Nov 5 there is no heat up and running. The problem was described by building security as "very big problem". Residents have not been notified. They leave an answering machine on the front desk to avoid taking calls. An insider provides us this information: "On November 3, 2006 at 11:00 p.m. one of the heating coils in a
suite of building D malfunctioned and broke loose resulting in
the flooding of the suite. As a result Johnson Controls have
begun draining the heating system. It took 4 hours to drain the
system and will take another 8 hours to refill it. How many massive problems have occurred already in this complex and how many more on the way? Pipe and valve failures bringing down the whole system in a building that is yet to be one year old. This is the same system that provides Air Conditioning in the Summer which had massive failures (yes plural) in July and been intermittent at best ever since. For those who rent from Prompton, the office is closed and they do not return pages. What happens if a pipe breaks in your unit? The tenant has no one to call. By the time Prompton agents get into the office on Monday your property is ruined because they do not return phone calls. What do you pay them for? A bum off the street could do a better job of maintaining your interests. |
