CityPlace Toronto exposing the Concord Apex built fiasco

Bad Electrical Work

Google

A residents tale:

If the exposed live wire thing wasn't enough, the entire electrical wiring in my unit needed to be redone. Turns out they used some bad parts. One outlet blew the breaker immediately when anything was plugged into it. Too many outlets going to the same breaker and some bad internal parts made for the interesting CityPlace blunder of no two electrical devices may be used at once. For instance should you have a computer on you best not turn on a lamp in another room or you'll blow the breaker. This took weeks for them to fix due to the fact that at first they simply try to ignore the problem. The game of pass the buck goes around and around. Meanwhile residents of this "upscale" condo development cant operate more then one electrical device at a time! Welcome to the luxury of CityPlace. If this building were located in the dirtiest Thai slum then yes you might call it upscale. But to have exposed live wires and faulty wiring in Toronto Canada!

Is there not a governing body making sure electricians are licensed? If so why are they not checking out Cityplace? Maybe they are. If not they should be. To update this story Maria Decosta (excuse lady without conscience IMO) has posted a notice in the elevator of 5 Mariner Terrace. The notice is dated August 14th 2006. The notice states that anyone with an "unfinished receptacle" on their balcony contact them but August 17th. Isn't this convenient? I got a bad case of "phone ear" over two weeks trying to get them to express any concern. Now in the middle of August (two months later), they post this 3 day notice. Why? So when people get back from their vacations Maria and her office can say " we posted a notice". Nice touch.

UPDATE:

We've had several emails from people who had this same problem. Many units in CityPlace were wired improperly. All the stories were near exact to the above. Fixed now? Let us know.
