CityPlace Toronto exposing the Concord Apex built fiasco

Air Conditioning - Lack Thereof

Week after week, failed AC. Another CityPlace fiasco

From a residents keyboard to you:

Oh what a blunder this one is. Does everyone in Toronto remember this July's heat records? Me too. I got to enjoy it without Air Conditioning in this upscale City Place condo. No AC for the 2 weeks in July it was so bloody hot. The City Place team was making all kinds of excuses. In the end they removed internal switches from all the units (located in the suites). The units are connected to the building central chiller. This chiller went down several times. No one seems to know why. The switches in the suite units were all bad. So they took out the switches. Now there is no heat capability. Sure hope they figure this out before winter. Of course it wasn't just during the heat wave, the AC has been on and on since I moved in. One AC unit in my suite was not even wired to the electricity! Wow, top notch.

Its not just the AC breakdowns that frustrate me personally. Its the way Concords Customer Care and building management handle things. They tried to tell me no one else was having any problems. Like I never run into anyone else in the building? They tell everybody these stories and within a few days you have clusters of angry people having elevator conversations venting and comparing notes. A few days after being told that I am lone in the AC woes they admit its a building wide problem. Then they tell everyone its all fixed. But guess what? still no AC. They instruct front desk personal to tell people it will take time for their AC units to get cold water from the main system. Lies, all lies. They tell people to wait until 11pm to feel effects of the fixed AC. How convenient, wait until people are going to bed. That buys them another day. People get up, go off to work and expect the AC will be working when they get home. This lie gets repeated for days. Finally they are forced to admit that faulty parts are the problem. Gee what a shock, cheap shoddy crap in CityPlace!

Pass the buck, throw the baloney, anything to avoid cutting the mustard.

Update:

This became a serial issue and now the Central Air system has been switched over to heat and experienced outages in this direction as well. New buildings have problems but not like this. CityPlace has a terrible track record. It would be hard to imagine a worse showing then CityPlace to date.
